Dion Niebrugge: Lead and Harmony Vocals, Bass, Guitar

Dion was born and raised in Bruno, SK and came to music naturally (his Dad was a drummer in a local cabaret band back in “the day”). An accomplished musician, Dion teaches guitar, has extensive piano training, played drums for local bands in his youth, and even dabbles in accordian! The barley boys' sound hinges on Dion’s amazing vocal range – sweet and angelic like Vince Gill to Bruce Springsteen’s grit and growl! And nobody can out-Elvis Dion! Equally at home on bass, acoustic or electric guitar, Dion’s many talents shine through at every show!

The barley boys are three lifelong musicians with diverse backgrounds and musical influences who came together for the love of playing and performing. From classic country to classic rock, the barley boys bring great entertainment value to any event.

Trevor Ross: Harmony and Lead Vocals, Guitar, Bass

Hailing from the farming community of Spinney Hill, near Sonningdale, SK, Trevor carries on a musical legacy that began with his father, Steele, a popular local country artist. Trevor got his first guitar for Christmas at the age of 5, and by the time he was in his early teens, Trevor was on stage with his dad playing for dances, pubs and outdoor festivals. He played bass with a number of local bands and artists throughout highschool, travelling the highways and byways of West Central Saskatchewan and Central Alberta. A foray into the studio in the late eighties had Trevor backing his dad once again on Steele’s “Hell Ride in Montana” album. Now back into music with a vengeance, Trevor has set aside his trusty bass for the challenge of playing electric and acoustic guitar in a three-piece band setting. His next goal is to further develop his skills as a lyricist and songwriter.

Ken Sogge: Harmony and Lead Vocals, Drums

A skilled drummer since his highschool days in Elbow, SK, Ken toured the Province in the “hair days” providing percussion for and recording with rock acts such as Crystal Image and Red Line. Ken’s father was one of the driving forces behind a popular 50’s swing band called The Dixie Cats, it would be fair to say Ken was born with music in his veins. Although Ken headed down a different musical path than his father, and the Bon Jovi hair is now gone, Ken maintains his love of music and entertaining. Ken has continued to expand his musical abilities throughout the years and holds down a rock solid groove while providing unwavering vocals and harmonies for the band.
